Car Background Information
After the successful 2008 season, Audi faced the problem of how to improve a well nigh perfect car in order to secure the championship title again. The racing car retained the tried and trusted V8 engine, shown in detail in the model kit. Only detail modifications were made. The reward for these efforts: the championship title and second place in the constructors' standings. Tom Kristensen, famous as the most successful pilot in the 24-hour races at Le Mans, contributed 21 points to the positive overall success of the Audi Sport Team Abt. In mid-2009 the genial Dane and Timo Scheider's team colleague announced his withdrawal from the DTM. For its last race his car was given a special livery, as shown by the decals in the kit.
